DoulaDiligence Team
Sharon Jensen-Cody, PhD
Birth Doula & Sleep Consultant
I’m Sharon & I’m the owner of DoulaDiligence. I share my life with my wonderful husband and our two amazing kids. My journey into birth-work stems from a deep-rooted passion for expectant parents that took hold of me at a young age when I witnessed my sister giving birth. The duality of the experience, both challenging and profoundly beautiful, left an indelible mark on me.
With a PhD in Molecular Medicine, I made the decision to step away from the laboratory to pursue my calling in supporting expectant parents as they navigate the transformative journey of pregnancy, birth, & postpartum. Eager to transition into the role of a Birth Doula, I've always been captivated by the marvels of pregnancy & the ability of the female body to nurture new life.
My mission as an evidence-based Birth Doula is rooted in empowering women to shape their birth experiences according to their desires. I am dedicated to championing maternal-fetal health & providing unwavering support to new parents as they embark on one of life's most incredible journeys.
Additionally, as a certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant, I am deeply dedicated to supporting parents in navigating the intricacies of their children's sleep patterns and behaviors. My passion lies in assisting families with any challenges their little ones may be encountering in relation to sleep, to provide rejuvenating rest you need and deserve.
I look forward to the privilege of being a part of your birth story and helping you navigate this extraordinary time in your life.
Chloe Hess
Birth & Postpartum Doula, Newborn Care Specialist, Lactation Counselor
I’m Chloe! From a young age, I was often called the baby whisperer. I’ve always had a natural connection with kids & found joy in supporting families during those early stages of parenthood.
My passion for birth & babies truly deepened when I witnessed my mom’s birth experience. As an only child for 12 years, I had the unique opportunity to support her through that experience. When I became a big sister to five (including a set of twins!), I naturally stepped into a nurturing “mini mom” role. Welcoming newborn twins into our family gave me my first real exposure to overnight care. We had support during those nighttime hours, and I saw firsthand just how powerful and essential that kind of help is during such a big life transition. I initially set out to become a labor and delivery nurse. I earned my CNA license, worked at Children’s Hospital during college, and volunteered in the labor and delivery unit to gain hands-on experience wherever I could.
When it came time for me to welcome my own baby, I assumed my background would prepare me for a smooth experience. But to my surprise, my birth didn’t go as I had hoped. I realized how much I lacked in guidance, education, and confidence; and how much that matters.
That experience changed everything. It stirred a deep calling in me to support mothers more personally and wholeheartedly. I became a certified labor and postpartum doula, newborn care specialist, and lactation counselor—roles that allow me to walk closely with families and help create the supported, beautiful experiences they truly deserve. I feel deeply called to this work, and it’s an absolute honor to walk alongside each family I serve.
Outside of doula life, I love spending time with my family. We enjoy being outdoors, camping, & traveling together. I’m also a woman of faith & trust God to guide me as I walk with families through one of life’s most meaningful seasons.
Janai Orr
Birth Doula , Postpartum Doula, CLC, CLE, CBE, Bellibind Specialist
I’m a mama to two beautiful girls who have shaped so much of who I am & the work I do. I felt called to birth-work after giving birth to my oldest 10 years ago & experiencing firsthand what it felt like to lack the support & advocacy I truly needed. That experience deepened my commitment to walking alongside families with compassion and presence.
As a doula, I’m known for my warm, grounding presence and for creating a safe and affirming space for the families I support. I blend evidence-based knowledge with intuitive care, ensuring each family feels informed, empowered, and nurtured throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
In addition to my doula work, I am a trained lactation consultant and love helping families feel confident & supported as they begin their feeding journey. I’m also trained in sound healing, which I gently weave in when families are seeking additional support for relaxation & emotional balance.
In my free time, you can usually find me blending my own loose-leaf teas, traveling, or creating something new whether that’s with my hands, through storytelling, or simply dreaming up fresh ideas.
I truly believe every birthing person deserves to be fully seen, supported, & celebrated during this sacred time, & I’m honored to walk alongside families as they welcome new life.
Glory Tobiason, PhD
Birth Doula CD(DONA), Postpartum Doula PCD(DONA)
Hi, I’m Glo. I love babies, but I love supporting the people who birth and parent them even more. One thing that sets me apart from a lot of doulas is my PhD in Research Methods. I’m able to dive deep into the evidence that matters to my clients (e.g., the risks and benefits of pacifier use, what the 2018 ARRIVE Trial actually showed about elective induction, etc.). And I’m also able to “translate” that evidence from academic jargon into usable, practical information. This is my third career (after elementary school teacher and university faculty), and it’s a perfect fit.
I might be the doula for you if you’re seeking completely agenda-less support. Waterbirth at home? Let’s do it. Medicated hospital birth? I love it. Exclusive breastfeeding? Sounds great. Formula from day one? Fantastic. Regardless of how you want to do this, my job is the same: make sure you know what your options are and what to expect… and then support your decisions wholeheartedly.
Maia Weisenhaus
Birth Doula & Birth Photographer
Hi, I’m Maia! I’m a doula and photographer based in Los Angeles.
My passion for women’s health began early, growing up in a household with three sisters and watching my mom complete her pediatric residency. I went on to study biology and did pre-medical studies at Columbia University. I found my true calling in birthwork, and decided to become a doula so that I could provide unwavering support to women as they navigate the transformative steps of having a child.
My approach is gentle, evidence-based, and rooted in listening. Every pregnancy and birth is unique, and I believe there’s no “right” way to move through the process. My role is to ensure that you are informed, supported, and advocated for, so that you can step into birth feeling grounded and have ownership over your journey. I also love taking pregnancy and birth photos for those who wish to document these special moments.

Kiley Tkaczyk
Birth & Postpartum Doula, Preconception Guide, Birth Photographer
Hi, I’m Kiley! I’m a a mom with an extensive background spanning over a decade in healthcare, with a specific focus on women's health & family building, paired with years immersed in the study of birth, my journey has evolved into a passionate exploration of the entire process from preconception to postpartum.
Throughout my tenure, I experienced a profound paradigm shift, recognizing that there’s infinitely more to wellbeing than just the physiological aspects, prompting an exploration at a deeper level. This moment also ignited a connection to the initiation of childbirth and an enhanced reverence for the inherent strength within every woman.
I perceive each birth as a sacred ceremony; a powerful rite of passage that connects you to the cosmic forces of creation. I believe in bringing intention and presence to every phase of this journey, honoring that consciousness in preconception, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum looks different for each individual. My work is about creating a dynamic in which you can discover what that means for you, so that you are well held, in full alignment with self.
Alexandra Spencer
Full Spectrum Birth & Postpartum Doula
Hello, I’m Alexandra! I am a full-spectrum birth and postpartum doula. I worked as a nanny for over a decade before I decided to follow my long-time fascination with birth and become a doula. It is truly an honor and a joy for me to support parents, families, and babies in my community.
As a doula, my approach is based in person-centered, identity-affirming, evidence-based care. I focus on helping you and your family be seen, supported, empowered, and informed through the entire pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. My support thrives through building relationship, so that I can know how best to provide encouragement, information, and care to facilitate the most empowered experience possible. I support home, birth center, and hospital births, and I believe there is no wrong way to birth your baby.
In addition to being a doula, I am a dancer, quilter, passionate cook and baker, and a shade-seeking outdoor creature. When I’m not supporting families I can be found wandering some of Ventura County’s beautiful trail systems, line dancing, attending a book club, or trying to get in the ocean no matter how cold it is.
Rechelle Patterson
Postpartum Doula
Hi, I’m Rechelle, also known as The Nerdy Doula. I grew up in Victorville, CA, an underserved community that shaped my commitment to equity in maternal health. My passion for caring for families began with lived experience advocating for relatives with special needs, which taught me early on the importance of compassionate, accessible support.
Before becoming a doula, I spent years exploring the medical field. I completed premed coursework and interned with organizations such as Black Infant Health, Future Physician Leaders, and community health programs across Southern California. Those experiences gave me a strong foundation in public health and a deep understanding of the disparities that \ birthing people face, especially within marginalized communities. I eventually pivoted to doula work to create more meaningful, one-on-one relationships with the families I support. I’m trained by Grounded Beginnings Birth, a BIPOC-centered, trauma-informed doula training program that aligns with my passion for culturally competent, evidence-based care.
My mission is simple: To reduce maternal health disparities while helping families feel informed, supported, and empowered during the postpartum period. I prioritize evidence-based, relationship-centered, and judgment-free care that honors each family’s culture, values, and lived experience.
Outside of doula work, I’m a total nerd at heart. I love reading about all things pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, and I can talk about sci-fi movies for hours.
Valerie Sabourin
Birth and Postpartum Doula
Hi, I’m Valerie, I’m a birth and postpartum doula who believes every family deserves to feel supported, cared for, and truly held during this beautiful (and sometimes overwhelming) transition into parenthood. Whether I’m offering handson support, a listening ear, or simply making sure you’re nourished and cared for, my goal is always the same: to help you feel seen, supported, and never alone as you welcome your little one.
As your doula, I blend evidence-based care with a down-to-earth approach. I’m here for the emotional support, the practical guidance, and the real life stuff - like reminding you to drink water, celebrating tiny wins, and reassuring you that no one actually folds laundry in the newborn phase.
On a personal note, I’m a mom of two wonderful young men. In my free time, you can find me in my garden, reading, meditating, on walks with my dog, baking and cooking, or crafting of any kind. I love being creative and doing fun things!
If you’re looking for someone who will support you with kindness, zero judgment, and a little bit of humor, I’m honored to walk alongside you.
Steffie Hilsenkbek
Postpartum Doula
From the time I was a young girl, I have felt a natural, deep-rooted connection with children. Growing up, I was the one always found taking care of my little cousins, instinctively stepping into a nurturing “mini mom” role that felt as natural as breathing. Supporting my own family through the early, tender stages of parenthood brought me a level of joy I couldn't quite name at the time, but I realize now it was the beginning of my life’s work. I don't just see postpartum support as a career; I see it as a sacred calling and a vital way to give back to my community.
My primary goal is to ensure that you feel completely safe, seen, and heard during one of the most transformative periods of your life. I understand that the transition into parenthood is as vulnerable as it is beautiful.
My path to becoming a doula was solidified by my own postpartum journey. I know firsthand the complex web of struggles, worries, and exhaustion that new mothers face every single day. I have been in those shoes, feeling the weight of the unknown, and it is that lived experience that fuels my passion for this work. My own daughter has been my greatest teacher; she has made me a better doula and has deepened my dedication to providing the high-standard, compassionate care that every new parent deserves. I am here to guide you through this process with expert advice and constant encouragement, helping you build the confidence you need to thrive in your new role.
When I am not walking alongside families, you will find me working with my hands with different project like beading jewelry, screen printing, candles making or painting. I am a lover of the outdoors and find great healing in hiking through the mountains. It is an absolute honor to be invited into your inner circle during this time. I am committed to supporting your family with warmth, deep compassion, and an unwavering dedication to your unique journey.
Kimberly Betkey
Postpartum Doula
Hi I'm Kim. I am a postpartum doula dedicated to supporting families as they welcome their newest little one. My passion for this work grew from a deep belief that parents deserve just as much care and nurturing as their babies.
Whether you’re recovering from birth, navigating the early days of parenthood, or adjusting to life with a newly adopted baby, my goal is to create a calm, supportive environment where you feel rested, confident, and cared for. I offer a blend of emotional support, practical guidance, and hands-on help tailored to your family’s unique needs.
As a mom of two young boys, I understand firsthand the joys and challenges that come with welcoming a baby. Those early days can be beautiful, exhausting, and everything in between — and it’s what inspired me to walk alongside other families during this precious season.
It’s an honor to support parents as they grow their families, and I’d be honored to support yours.
Angelica Covarrubias
Pre & Postnatal Fitness Specialist and Certified Wellness Coach
For nearly a decade, I’ve dedicated my career to helping women reconnect with, restore, and reclaim their bodies throughout motherhood. As a certified pre- and postnatal trainer with 9+ years of experience—and a mom of two—I understand how transformative the right movement can be.
During my first pregnancy, I struggled to find a trainer who truly supported pregnant women. Told not to exercise, my body craved movement. Once I started training, I felt strong, confident, and deeply connected. After birth, my recovery was so remarkable I knew I had to help others.
In my second pregnancy, I trained until 38 weeks, but post-birth faced challenges like diastasis recti, incontinence, back pain, and pelvic prolapse. Using the methods I teach, I fully healed and strengthened my body, deepening my commitment to helping others heal too.
My approach blends science-backed movement, functional strength training, and nervous system regulation to rebuild women’s bodies from the inside out. I've helped many heal diastasis, resolve pain, restore pelvic floor function, and reclaim confidence. Living with incontinence, pain, or “mom pooch” isn’t normal, it’s common, and with the right techniques, your body can heal.
Every woman deserves to feel at home in her body again. My mission is to empower you to move through motherhood feeling strong, supported, and whole, because your body is capable of miraculous things, like creating life. You deserve to feel that power every day.
Carly Radist & Mari Griefer
The Registry Chicks - Baby Registry Concierge Specialists
We’re Carly and Mari, best friends since the age of five and moms to toddler girls. Becoming parents together is what led us to create The Registry Chicks.
When building our registries, like many first-time parents, we found ourselves overwhelmed by endless baby product research, marketing that told us what were "must-haves," and conflicting advice. Now a few years in, we've tested the gear, navigated every aisle and Amazon page, and learned what actually works so you don't have to. The baby world is noisy, and marketing often makes it feel like you need everything - and fast. That’s where we come in - we work with you to create a curated list of items that suit your needs on a day-to-day basis with a newborn. Yes, we’ll help with the big-ticket items, but just as importantly, we educate you on the essentials that truly support your baby and your lifestyle.
Our concierge-style approach is rooted in real research (i.e. not just what is the latest and greatest but products that stand the test of time), lived experience, and the belief that no two families are the same. We’re here to make registry planning feel simpler, more intentional, and far less overwhelming.
When we’re not talking baby gear, we’re juggling mom life, swapping toddler shenanigan stories, and continuing a friendship that’s now spanned decades. We promise after working with us, you'll be baby product obsessed just like we are.
Alexa Levine, MS
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Hi I'm Alexa, licensed marriage and family therapist and founder of Therapy For California Moms. My path into maternal mental health was shaped by a deep and abiding belief that motherhood — in all its complexity — deserves more than just to be survived. I've always been drawn to the profound transformation that happens when a woman becomes a mother: the way it reshapes identity, relationships, and sense of self in ways no one quite prepares you for.
With a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy, I made the intentional choice to focus my practice entirely on the women navigating this season of life. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in perinatal and maternal mental health, I work with clients during pregnancy and postpartum — meeting women at every stage of this journey, from the first trimester through the early years of motherhood. I love working with first-time moms navigating the unknown, and equally with moms expecting their second or third child, who often find that a new baby stirs up something unexpected in them too.
My mission is rooted in supporting women untangle the invisible load — the mental labor, the perfectionism, the default parenting, the relationship challenges, and the grief that can come with a chapter that the world insists should feel like joy. I provide a space that is honest, warm, and grounded in clinical evidence, where you can say the things that feel unsayable.
As a telehealth therapist serving mothers across California, I am dedicated to meeting you exactly where you are — whether you're navigating pregnancy, deep in the postpartum fog, or years into motherhood and finally ready to tend to yourself.
I look forward to the privilege of walking alongside you during one of the most transformative seasons of your life!
